Cipriani Sutton

A Short history

Hiram G. Disbrow, mason-builder, as his private residence, built ths structure in 1856-57. Cipriani Sutton, located at 313 East 58th Street just off of Second Avenue, is one of two adjacent Civil War era landmarks.
Simple and direct in architectural style, Cipriani Sutton offers a delightful and secluded haven from the monotony of glass, concrete, and bustle. Set back behind Its white picket fence, this charming little two-story structure is far removed from present day Manhattan.
An excellent example of the semi suburban houses that dotted the uptown side streets of mid-nineteenth century New York.
On March 31, 1970 the Landmarks Preservation Commission designated 313 E 58th St. a historical landmark worthy of preservation. Its facade remains pristine and historically accurate due to its landmark status.

We invite you and your guests to enjoy the classic Bellini cocktail in our luxurious oak bar complete with all the amenities, which opens into the main room.

High above the mid 1800's wide planked floor and Italian marbled fireplace spans a glass ceiling, which opens this beautiful setting to sun and starlight. Cipriani Sutton is a perfect settling for private events offering the very Finest food and service. The garage next door provides ample parking.

Cipriani Sutton - A Cipriani landmark, continues a tradition established in 1931 by Giuseppe Cipriani the founder of Harry's Bar in Venice. Their guiding principles remain the same today as then - to serve the finest food in a straightforward manner with precision and care.
